Melissa Rasiul, of Bensalem, was arrested for the hit-and-run accident that killed Vincent Peavy.

Stephen Pagano, also of Bensalem, has been charged for allegedly covering up the crime. He is being charged with tampering with evidence.

Bensalem Township police received a tip that led investigators to Rasiul and the vehicle she drove, a 2003 GMC pickup truck. Rasiul is being charged with accidents involving death (hit and run) and for driving with a suspended license.

Police say the crash happened between 6:35 and 6:45 p.m. A witness found Peary, age unknown, lying on the shoulder of the southbound lane of the 4100 block of Bristol Pike. He was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale, where he later died.

The striking vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived. ••
